Remedios
Villa Clara, Cuba
Overview
Remedios is one of Cuba's oldest tobacco-growing regions, located in Villa Clara province in central Cuba. While not as prestigious as Vuelta Abajo, Remedios produces robust, flavourful tobacco that is used in several well-known Cuban brands, particularly those offering value-oriented smoking.
Terroir
The red clay soil over a limestone base produces tobacco with a distinctive earthy, robust character. The slightly higher elevation and cooler temperatures create slower-growing plants that develop concentrated flavours.
