Cuban Cigar Factories

El Laguito is arguably the most famous cigar factory in the world. Originally an Italian-style mansion built in the 1920s, it was converted into a cigar factory in 1966 specifically to produce Cohiba — the private brand created for Fidel Castro. Today, El Laguito remains the exclusive home of Cohiba and Trinidad, where the most skilled torcedores in Cuba hand-roll every cigar using the finest Vuelta Abajo tobacco.

The H. Upmann Factory, also known as the José Martí factory to avoid confusion, is one of Havana's largest and most important cigar production facilities. Originally established by German banker Herman Upmann, the factory produces several of Cuba's most popular brands including the eponymous H. Upmann and the world-famous Montecristo.

The Real Fábrica de Tabacos Partagás, located on Industria Street in Old Havana, is one of the most iconic cigar factories in the world and one of the most visited tourist sites in Cuba. Founded by Don Jaime Partagás in 1845, the factory produces some of Cuba's boldest, most full-bodied cigars across multiple brands.
